These are just some of the questions I regularly get asked about modafinil. In this post, we're going to look at where to buy modafinil online in 2024, its legality, safety, and a few other details. But first, let's briefly go over what modafinil is.

Of all the nootropics being used today, modafinil is one of the most popular and one of the most powerful. Classified as a eugeroic¹ (wakefulness-promoting agent), modafinil users often report an increase in focus, alertness, and memory, a decrease in fatigue, and an improvement in mood and overall cognitive performance.

Another study⁷ done on military personnel compared the effectiveness of modafinil to amphetamine (and placebo). This study found modafinil to be as effective as amphetamine at improving performance but with less side effects.

Modafinil – Is it legal?

In the United States¹, Canada⁸, the United Kingdom⁹, and several European countries, modafinil is sold as a prescription drug under a variety of brand names. However, it can also be easily purchased online from one of the reputable sellers listed above.

Is Modafinil Safe?

Modafinil has an excellent safety record. In all the studies mentioned above, none of the participants receiving modafinil reported any serious side effects.

A study evaluating modafinil's safety for treating excessive sleepiness concluded that modafinil was generally well-tolerated.¹⁰ Another study found that modafinil was well-tolerated and showed fewer side effects than other cognition-enhancing drugs like amphetamine.¹¹

A long-term study¹² using high-dose modafinil (up to 400 mg/day) found, like the studies above, that it was generally well-tolerated. Side effects were rare and included headache, nervousness, insomnia, and nausea. These side effects went away after discontinuing modafinil.

Most people who take modafinil for its nootropic effects don't experience any side effects. Those that do find they are usually mild and go away once modafinil is discontinued. As always, whenever you start a new medication, supplement, exercise program, or behavioral routine, it's a good idea to consult with a licensed medical professional.
