What is Neuro Z3?
Neuro Z3 is a new nootropic blend from the company RAM Advantage. They are yet another young nootropic startup trying to make a name for themselves in the fast-growing industry. As of this writing, Neuro Z3 is their only product.
Neuro Z3 is a nootropic blend containing five well-researched nootropics. Unfortunately, since it is a proprietary blend, the exact dosages of each nootropic are unknown. However, ingredients need to be listed in order of amount from highest to lowest. Because of this, we know that Neuro Z3 has more ALCAR than anything else, followed by l-tyrosine, alpha gpc, l-theanine, and lastly huperzine A.
One serving of Neuro Z3 is two capsules, which makes dosing extremely easy. The RAM Advantage website recommends taking Neuro Z3 on an empty stomach for best results. It can be taken with food but the effects may be slightly blunted and might take a little longer to kick in.
Some of Neuro Z3's effects can be felt within an hour of the first time you take it. Ingredients like l-theanine and l-tyrosine are known to work after just one dose. To experience Neuro Z3's full benefits, it needs to be taken daily for several weeks.
According to the website, Neuro Z3 should not be taken by people with hypertension (high blood pressure), people who are currently taking antidepressants, or pregnant or nursing women. Like with all supplements, drugs, and lifestyle changes, you should consult your doctor before starting anything new.
Compared to other nootropic blends, the price of Neuro Z3 is somewhere in the middle. It's not the cheapest nootropic blend on the market (that honor goes to Rogue Energy), nor is it the most expensive blend (that would be Neuro-Stack). When taken every day, the cost of Neuro Z3 comes out to just over a dollar a day.
For best results, Neuro Z3 should be taken daily. Some of the ingredients may take weeks for their full effects to be noticeable. Let's look at all of Neuro Z3's ingredients now.
Neuro Z3 Ingredients
ALCAR
ALCAR, short for acetyl-l-carnitine, is a well-known substance with nootropic, anti-aging, and fat-burning properties. Because of this, ALCAR is popular in not just the nootropics community but also in fitness and anti-aging communities.
Acetyl-l-carnitine is the number one substance in Neuro Z3, which means it contains more ALCAR than anything else. This isn't surprising since it's often used in dosages between 500-2,000 milligrams (mg). There is plenty of science to support ALCAR's safety and effectiveness. The benefits of ALCAR include improved memory and mood, faster learning, more energy, and even fat loss.
You can learn more about ALCAR here: Acetyl-L-Carnitine – A Nootropic Fat Burner.
L-Tyrosine
This is an amino acid that the body uses to make the neurotransmitters dopamine and noradrenaline. It's naturally found in several food products and is often taken in supplement form to increase focus, motivation, and energy.
As the second ingredient listed in Neuro Z3, we can assume that there are several-hundred milligrams of l-tyrosine per serving. Like ALCAR, it's usually taken in dosages ranging from 500-2,000 milligrams.
Your body uses l-tyrosine to make dopamine and noradrenaline. Both neurotransmitters are known to play an important role in memory, mood, motivation, energy, and arousal. Taking l-tyrosine helps the body to make more of these neurotransmitters, resulting in more energy, better mood, and an overall increase in productivity.
Alpha-GPC
This is a well-known nootropic and choline source. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter known to play a crucial role in memory and learning. Alpha-gpc helps your body to make more acetylcholine, thus improving memory and learning.
Alpha-gpc is usually taken in dosages ranging from 300-600 milligrams. Though I can't be sure, if I had to guess, I'd guess that Neuro Z3 contains roughly 300 mg of alpha-gpc. Most nootropic blends contain a choline source, alpha-gpc and cdp-choline being the two most popular. There's plenty of research to support the safety and effectiveness of each.
You can learn more about alpha-gpc here: Alpha-GPC – A Choline-Boosting Nootropic.
L-Theanine
This is a non-essential amino acid that's found in green tea. L-theanine is incredibly popular in the nootropics community for its ability to decrease anxiety without being overly sedating like prescription anxiolytics (anti-anxiety drugs).
L-theanine is often stacked with caffeine because of the synergistic effect they have together. You can read about it here: L-Theanine and Caffeine – The Perfect Combo. This interesting amino acid has tons of research behind it to support its safety and effectiveness.
Toothed Clubmoss Aerials (Huperzine A)
The last ingredient in Neuro Z3 is toothed clubmoss aerials. These are a collection of plants that contain huperzine A, a well-known nootropic substance.
Huperzine A is popular in the nootropics community for its ability to slow the rate at which your body breaks down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. The result is improved learning and memory.
Usually dosed between 50-200 micrograms (mcg), the amount of huperzine A in Neuro Z3 probably falls within that range. Because it is used in such small amounts, it makes sense that it would be the last ingredient in Neuro Z3.
Neuro Z3 Review
Because of the ingredients in Neuro Z3, I wanted to take it every day for at least a couple weeks to see if its effects became more noticeable with time. According to their website, Neuro Z3 can be felt after just a single dose but its effects may become stronger over time. I found this to be true.
I took my first dose of Neuro Z3 on an empty stomach one Friday morning. As I always try to do before starting a new nootropic, I didn't take anything for the two weeks leading up to my first dose of Neuro Z3. That way, I could be certain its effects weren't caused by something else I had in my system.
The RAM Advantage website says that it takes 30-45 minutes for Neuro Z3 to “kick in.” I found this to be more-or-less true. As someone who has taken dozens of different nootropics, I know what to look for. Some of the effects can be subtle and hard to notice if you're not tuned into them.
After taking that first dose (2 capsules) of Neuro Z3, I got on my laptop and started writing. I write at least 2,000 words every day and like to get them down as early in the day as possible. About an hour into writing, I realized that the words were flowing out a little easier than usual. My mind felt extra sharp and I wasn't having any difficulty forming ideas and getting them down.
Though I can't be sure, I attribute this to the l-tyrosine and l-theanine in Neuro Z3. I've taken both of them before and am familiar with their subjective effects. L-tyrosine gives me a boost in motivation and energy, making it easier to write. And l-theanine helps my mind to relax but without slowing it down.
I got a lot of high-quality writing done that morning. In the afternoon, I went for a jog and felt like I was able to run a little bit longer without feeling fatigued. At first, I thought this to be nothing more than the placebo effect. However, over the course of the next two weeks, this effect got more and more noticeable.
I experienced the same boost in focus and memory on day two and three that I did on day one. Writing seemed easier than usual and I had more energy throughout the day. Unlike nootropic blends that contain caffeine, I did not experience any sort of crash later in the day. My energy levels and mood remained more-or-less consistent throughout the morning, afternoon, and early evening.
Over the course of the fifteen days, I took Neuro Z3, I found that my energy levels and stamina increased gradually, a little bit every day. I'm not sure if they would've continued to increase if I'd kept taking Neuro Z3. I suspect that they may have increased a little bit more before leveling out.
The increase in focus and memory was noticeable from the first day but leveled off after a few days. I didn't experience any additional increase in focus or memory after the first three or four days. However, the increase that I did experience remained consistent over the fifteen-day period.
Overall, I liked Neuro Z3. It's safe, effective, and reasonably priced. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a caffeine-free nootropic blend. People with anxiety and people who are sensitive to the effects of caffeine may especially like Neuro Z3.
You can purchase Neuro Z3 directly from the RAM Advantage website or you can get it at a slightly-lower price on Amazon.
